Vancouver Beach Team Visits Beaches PDX for Breakfast!

Last Saturday, Beaches PDX had the opportunity to host our friends and co-workers from Beaches Vancouver for a breakfast tasting. We are so excited by our Breakfast Menu that we want to share it with everyone!

What's happening this month at the Beach for the Children's Center!

The CHILDREN’S CENTER is dedicated to serving the community by providing quality mental health services to children and families of Clark County. They are committed to serving all children in need within their resources.

During the entire month of August, funds raised through the Charity tables will be donated to Children’s Center.  Request the best table in the house for a minimum $5 donation at lunch and $10 donation at dinner!  Also, on August 28th it will be “Cashback for Children’s Center” day!  Encourage all your friends, family members and coworkers to take the opportunity to dine at Beaches--breakfast, lunch, dinner, happy hour--just say Cashback for Children's Center and we will donate 50% of whatever you spend on food or beverage to the Children's Center!

Also, during August and September vote for you favorite "gams!" Here at Beaches we have a leg on display...come check it out!

Did ya know? We do Breakfast at the Beach! Starting at 5am every day of the week, we have delicious breakfast choices--yummy, fast and fresh. We know it’s important to start your day off right, so we reviewed and revamped our menu to make sure we have what you want when you are headed out of town or just out on the town. Pictured here is our latest and greatest, the Salmon Skillet, already popular with our guests and destined to be a Beaches’ favorite.

We have also jazzed up our omelets and added a yummy Italian  Sausage Omelet that goes on the ‘must-try’ list! Also on the side now are crispy roasted red potatoes.

•Food & Beverage is available- We sell it at the show, which is also a source of funds for Charity. Please use us… it’s good!

-Pre-73 Classics, Hot Rods & Customs.
-Specialized Rides- Any year Vettes, Vipers, High end Exotics.

Thanks to all our great staff. In May, we want to highlight a few folks who consistently go above and beyond:
In Vancouver:

Kody Gordon--Kody has become a key player in a short amount of time, filling some big shoes and helping the Team out wherever he is needed.  From pantry to calling tags to seating guests, this kid has got his stuff together and we’re lucky to have him!



Michael Watts--Michael, or Watts as he is better known, is also a jack of all trades going between bartending, serving, catering & whatever else we need.  His personality & willingness to help  make him a favorite with our Team & our Guests.
We’re grateful to both Kody & Watts for keeping us moving along...especially on Sunday Fundays!





At Portland Airport:

Sergio Alvurez--Sergio started at PDX in August of 2010 but had worked in Vancouver for years.  Sergio wears many hats here at PDX.  You can find him on the line in either the oven or pantry area, in the back prepping or in the dish pit getting all the dishes, pots, pans etc done.  Sergio is on the quiet side but his hard work speaks volumes.  Thanks for all you do Serge!

Maddy Rotzien--Maddy just had her one year anniversary with Beaches PDX, but she has been a part of the Beaches family for most of her life,  her mom has been on the team for many years.  Maddy adds a nice touch to the Shack-–she has a winning smile and always makes the guests feel welcome.  She is a great team player and we are glad that she is keeping the family tradition up!

Have you experienced Brewvana? It is a school bus that was converted into a beer bus for Brew tours. Here's a photo from the brew tour myself and some of the Beach Team took through Brewvana. 

The Brewvana Bus took us to the Hopworks Brewery in Portland. We were treated like Kings and Queens by the entire staff. 

Jamie Rodriguez showed us around their incredible brewing facility and informed on the brewing process. They really do some amazing stuff over there. They are concerned with their impact on the environment and do their best to recylcle and reuse just about everything. For example, they convert all the used grain and yeast from the beer into biodiesel to power part of the facility, COOL!

After the tour we were treated to pizza and beer in the dining room. My favorite beer was a new IPA they called Autonomous Prime, a nod to the leader of the Transformer's Autobots. At Beaches, we are pouring their Secession Ale, it is a black IPA and 100% organic and delicious. Be sure to check out experiencebrewvana.com to book your own brewery tour with Ashley. 

Also watch for Beaches to team up with Brewvana to offer more brew tours leaving from our restaurant in Vancouver. Come down and try a pint of Hopworks at Beaches! 

I also need to mention that coming up on June 8th--Beaches will be sponsoring our Annual Golf Tournament: Beachin' Bash on the Greens at Cedar Golf Course. Chocolate for Life!

As we continue to Celebrate Chocolate this Week at Beaches Restaurant, we thought we'd share some pictures of our favorite chocolately desserts we have available here for you:

 First is our Smokin' Hot S'mores Dessert--new to our menu this year--this deliciousness brings back all those sweet memories of roastin' marshmallows over the fire. Now we do all the work for you! This cast-iron pan of chocolate mousse, graham cracker bits, chocolate chips topped with mini-marshmallows spends a few minutes in our wood oven to create a smokin' hot, super rich delight. Topped with our locally made vanilla ice cream from Great Northwest Ice Cream Company. Can't be beat!

Next is our Sweet & Wicked Duo! This is a combination of different flavors and tastes. One glassful of sinfully rich chocolate mousse layered with chocolate syrup & topped with whipped cream, the other a creamy custard layered with guava-mango sauce. Yum!

For that chocolate craving that just won't go away--we offer our Classic Chocolate "B52" Fudge Cake! Big enough to share--warning you won't really want to--and paired with a naughty "B52" sauce that kicks it up a notch. Best served warm with our vanilla ice cream.

And don't forget our signature dessert--the "Ra-diculously" Amazing Roca Baskets! Shown here with Almond Roca Ice Cream topped with Dilettante Chocolate Amaretto Sauce. Just perfect for a sweet treat!

We also have special chocolate desserts at both Beaches Vancouver and Beaches Portland Airport--make sure you ask when you visit us this week!

I am really looking forward to St. Patrick's Day down at Beaches. How cool is it that it lands on a Saturday this year? That means it will be an even bigger party! We have some great Irish-inspired giveaway items from our world class vendors: Coors Light, Jameson and Guinness to name a few. We are also pleased to welcome back our Firefighters' Pipes & Drum Band. The boys will be playing those sweet Irish tunes around 4:30pm during our first Happy Hour. They are loud and ready to entertain, just like we like 'em! I almost forgot, we have Drink Specials too! We will be pouring green Coors Light of course, but we will also have Killian's Irish Red for our Happy Hour Beer as well as Irish Coffees and Irish Cream and Coffee with a lil' creme de menthe on the whip cream. 
Also be sure to check out our display at the Roadster Show at the Expo Center. This has really become a great show and we are pleased that we can be a part of it. I hope I see you down here at the Beach this weekend!
